INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE
A wandering and fantastic theatre and sound comedy in three acts for public place.

faunemes_gd3

The "Faunèmes", are an imaginary people. When they feel like it, they can catch the sounds surrounding them and swallow them voraciously, the way someone, with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, devours learning.

An integrated sound collector, the latest technological fashion, gives this power to each faunème. However, after one of them got a “bug”, a new generational model was created, making it possible to collect directly into people’s heads. The Faunèmes are then under the “blotter effect” and absorb the most secret human thoughts...

A creation for three stationary and three ambulatory circuits.
Live voices, treated by électroacoustic, are added to pre-recorded sounds with the deliberate choice of an international language.
Prejudice of the critical laughter and the black humor, under an almost artless aspect, is claimed as anchorage point.

In FAUNÈMES, live and mechanical are printed in the sense as well as in the shape.
Evolving in an imaginary world, the actors depend on the sound mechanics which they carry.
In this time of the standardization of  thought, "of the taming of souls"
and the layout of desires, our actions automate, are manipulated, become computerized.
We must  be of our time, that is cabled, connected, hooked in ...
This model settles down peacefully in our heads - " a Trojan horse in the intimacy of our brains ".
We are at the same moment alive and mechanized, alive by our differences and human by our imagination, mechanized with our approval in the model we follow.

Mode of sound broadcasting
The principle of broadcasting, namely a sound chain carried by every actor, offers electroacoustic possibilities out of the ordinary.
On one hand, the actors have each their halo of production sound (comparable to a setting in light) made all the more striking as the system remains invisible to the public.
On the other hand, the mobility of the actors induces many movements of loud speakers in the scenic space. Quadriphonic configuration  in movement allows
a spatializing variable geometry.
Every actor has, riveted to the body, the number of invisible partners that he wishes, the sound reinforcements necessary for the expression of his gestures and from a wider point of view, all the elements constituting the scenery common to the four actors. So sound allows every spectator to create his own image of the character’s environnement.
